growth spurt?

I think my belly may be going through yet another significant growth spurt. Yesterday my biggness started to really show itself. I went to the mall and was not lucky in snagging the one and only "expectant mothers" parking spot. About 25 minutes into the trip my back was killing me. I'm also experiencing a burning sensation at the top of my belly that I haven't had in several weeks. It feels like an "indian burn"....anyone know what I'm talking about?

Anslee is kicking and rolling around like mad these days. Brian and I sat on the couch last night and just took in all of her action. It's so fun! We are both still amazed that a 4.5 lb baby is in there moving about.

We went to the Baptist Hospital tour last week and now know where to park. Brian used some fancy function on his phone to log in the location so he can get the coordinates no matter where he is. We both got giddy in the labor and delivery room. I teared up a little thinking about laying in that bed just moments before Anslee Claire comes into the world.

I am praying for and can visualize a very peaceful and successful labor and delivery. I trust the Lord to watch over me and this baby. This entire pregnancy I have felt that I am carrying a very happy and healthy baby. I hope I am right....but know that no matter what, it's in God's hands and His plan is perfect.

our poor dog and a piece of furniture

What an eventful day. Today is my birthday; I'm 29. Our dog, Molly had to have 18 stitches in her leg so the day pretty much revolved around her...poor thing! I managed to purchase a piece of furniture for Anslee on my lunch break and Brian fixed a special dinner for me. All in all a good day, except I hate seeing Molls uncomfortable.

Molly is set to recover in about 10 days. We have no clue what she did. She's a "farm dog" so you just never know what they get into sometimes. She's a tough little thing and is so sweet, no matter what her circumstances. The girls at the vet loved her.

About the piece of furniture. I will be taking before and after pictures once it's in my possession. It's a cabinet that I found at the Harpeth Antique Mall in Franklin, TN. I've spent many hours hunting and decided to just go ahead with this one. Time is ticking!

One of the things I learned at my first job in sales is how to negotiate. I got that cabinet for half of what the sticker said. Whoo hoo! The nursery is small but I am crossing my fingers that this piece works as it will allow me to display some of her special things. Included in those things are Beatrix Potter figurines from my nursery as a baby, a special brass rocking horse from Ghree and Pa (Brian's parents) and sweet Tiffany & Co. china from my friend Carrie.

I'm going to pick up some paint tomorrow to make sure we have picked the perfect shade of pink so Mom can paint and get her curtains hung. It's coming together!

name that baby!

After much consideration, we have finally named our child. Sweet Baby Bobel will also be known as:
 Anslee Claire
When Brian and I first started dating (2005) we were all goo-goo gah-gah and we talked about baby names. Believe it or not, this name was in my head and written in a journal he kept.

The name worked out well because my middle name is Anne, after my maternal grandmother, and Lee is a family name for the Robertson family. My grandpa is Kenneth Lee, dad is Mike Lee and brother is Ryan Lee...but goes by Lee.

So little Anslee has her own name with some family roots. Claire is because we love it and think it's a beautiful middle name for our precious girl.

We already call her our own nicknames. We both use AC. I say Baby A and Brian calls her A-money...ha-ha!

Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day was pretty close to perfect this year....it would have been perfection if Mema would have been there but she was not feeling well at all.

We had 22 over to our house. Having our immediate family all together on a beautiful, sunny Spring day was such a blessing! The weather was warm and we all had a great time. Apparently, Grandpa and Ethelda entertained with their stories of Ethelda's parrot. I heard Justin's mom, Christine cracking up over them.

Lots of memories were made and I am so thankful that everyone came. Brian and I are blessed to be very close with our beautiful moms. We love you "Mom", Vel and Ginger!

This gives my entertaining good practice. I really do love to entertain and when I do I am always reminded of my Grandma. She was an awesome hostess and when I am preparing to have people I always think of her and feel her with me. I know she would have been so proud. I am sad she's not here. I never imagined that her life would end when it did but I know she's with the Lord. Thank you, Lord, for the hope for eternity! I'm thankful for the faith I have for the reuniting we will have!

I've also been told that Brian's grandmother, Ddot was an awesome hostess. I would have loved to have known and learned from her also. I will meet her one day!

Our menu: chicken salad on croissants, bacon-turkey sandwiches, potato salad, chips, green salad and fruit with topping. For dessert we had banana pudding cake. Very summer-ish!

Brian got me an awesome diaper bag that I can't wait to use. Next year my sweet girl will be 10 months old. I can't wait to see what Mother's Day 2012 will look like!
